Forum: web Subject: How to find FTP folder?

I'm new to this rich resource, and having trouble finding my way around. I'd like to download some files by FTP as an alternative to the familiar HTTP method. I've established how to do this and successfully downloaded an arbitrary file.

But how do I find which of the many FTP subfolders (within the 4 top-level folders /0, /1, /2, and /3) contains the *specific* movie I'm seeking please?

As an example, at this page
http://www.archive.org/movies/details-db.php?collection=prelinger&collectionid=31774
(or, in compact form, http://tinyurl.com/5r9fy )
it says "This item is on: movies03.archive.org"

But none of the subfolders at that FTP address seem to be relevant. Looking at many other subfolders and their contents, it seems that all files have names based on their folders. So the folder for these (a 13 min tour of London), called
http://www.archive.org/download/SeeingLo1920/SeeingLo1920_256kb.mp4
should have a folder named 'SeeingLo1920', yes? But that doesn't exist.

I tried another example, looking for the 39 'London*.MOV' movie clips contributed by Timothy Jaeger. But can't find those either.

Can someone kindly put straight please?

Notice the link "Download Options" below the HTTP download link in th left pane of the page. That will give you FTP information.

For Windows, but I suggest you not save the password.
ftp://username:password@host.doman.tld/path
host will usually be ftp
domain is some thing like archive
tld is the group. com, edu, gov, mil, .co.uk, .jp, .cn and in the future, .sport.
Good Luck.

Thanks both. Got them now. Must say they weren't worth the effort! But the knowledge will now be useful. Must have had a blind spot to that clear direction below 'Download Options' .
